The Mediation Service and Restorative Justice for Juveniles in Contact with the Law - On the Mediation Procedures through the Court





 

This manual is published in the framework of the project “Institutionalization of Restorative Justice and Victim-Offender Mediation for Juveniles in Albania”, funded by EU Delegation and implemented by Save the Children in partnership with the Albanian Foundation for Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation of Disputes”.

The manual was developed in cooperation with the High Council of Justice.

The manual contains a set of guidelines and standards that should be used by the court and judges in referring the cases, involving juvenile offenders to mediation services. The manual defines all the steps, from the initial stage of referral of the case referral to mediation, to the final outcome of the mediation process (These stages are namely: the assessment by the judge whether the case is appropriate for mediation, the procedure for referral to the mediation center, the mediation process, documentation, the completion of the procedure).
